Centurion Avalanche C4

OVERVIEW
The flashy green sparkle from the metal flake graphics on our Avalanche C4 test model caught our attention immediately. But it was the roomy wraparound lounge and winning wake performance of Centurion's classic V-drive that remained in our minds.

WHAT WE DIG
• The green metal flake shines in sunlight
• The powder-coated Double Up tower is burly and the powder coat is sharp
• Handy cooler in the bow walk-through
• Extra bow tank helps boost wakes
• Optional swivel board racks are easy to use

FEATURES

Highlight Feature
Graphics. The flame pattern with that green metal flake caught the light reflecting off the water on Lake Tulloch, and it looked like an optical illusion to us, as if the hull was on fire. That's hot.

Hull
The Avalanche C4's deep V hull slices through rough water like a bigger boat. And with the resulting profile riding higher above the waterline than many others, the C4 offers a comfortable ride even when the whitecaps start rocking.

Ballast
This boat comes standard with 460 pounds of ballast. We definitely recommend adding the optional dual rear ballast tanks. They just jack up the wake even more.

Tower
We liked the swooping lines of the standard Double Up Tower. The optional swivel board racks gave us the capacity to carry boards for four riders. And the black powder-coated finished was a sharp complement to the Avalanche C4's slick graphics. The Evolution tower is optional.

Wake shaper
The Switchblade adjustable wake plate is able to fine-tune the shape of the wakes depending on the style of rider. An optional Bennett trim tab can further adjust the boat's running attitude.

Wake
The name of the game on this wake is wide and mellow, Centurion's signature. This is a good beginner wake at a very short line and relatively higher speeds. More advanced riders can add more weight, bump that speed up and drop farther and farther back for more time in the air.
