Ski Supreme V220

OVERVIEW
Since most of our test crew is from Orlando, we don't often see some of the West Coast brands. With one of our test sites in NorCal this year, we got to check in with Supreme and check out the '08 V220. It has the dimensions of a nimble direct-drive but with the V-drive that's loved on either coast.
WHAT WE DIG
• Optional billet aluminum package looks great
• Must-have Sky package for wake amenities
• Seams are triple-stitched for "baseball" style
• Choice of 12 vinyl colors for upholstery
• Storage runs all the way along the port side
FEATURES
Highlight Feature
We like how Supreme has kept the space of the interior lounge as open as possible in a boat with a 7-foot-6-inch beam. There's room to stretch out, while still preserving the boat's maneuverability.
Hull
The deep-V entry of the V220 really keeps this boat straight as it shoots through rougher waters and rollers. We also like the deep interior of the boat, which not only makes it roomier but works with the mellower tapered running surface to make the ride nice and smooth.
Ballast
This boat's ballast consists of two rear tanks, each 360 pounds, for a total of 720 pounds of weight. There's a bow bag that adds another 425 pounds, making for a tally of more than 1,100 pounds — an impressive number for a 21-footer with a 7-foot-6-inch beam.
Tower
We tested this boat with the optional Godzilla tower. With 2.375-inch tubing, it's pretty sturdy and is reinforced at the bottom to add even more stability. We think it goes without saying: If you're a rider, you need to get the tower. The Sky option package will outfit this boat right.
Wake
Beginners or intermediate riders should have a great time behind the V220 with this size wake. The fairly steep wakes are a little far apart, so they take some getting used to. More weight will help increase the size and ramps to clear wake-to-wake moves.
