Wakeboard Boat Review
Like a little brother to the Malibu Wakesetter VLX, the Malibu Wakesetter VTX is a sound decision for boaters conscious of storage space or waterway restrictions. At a compact 20 feet, this hull design still kicks up a thick, rampy wake with 1,250 pounds of standard ballast. Drivers will dig the oversize captain’s chair, and the new Illusion G3 tower looks sharp and is very functional. Look for all the quality, performance, comforts and conveniences you’re accustomed to in a Malibu wakeboard boat sized to work just about anywhere.
Malibu Boats didn’t sacrifice anything in the wakes to make the VTX 20 feet. With rampy, somewhat rounded wakes that are completely devoid of any type of wash over, the VTX will give you a consistent pop and soft wake-to-wake landings. Go slower, about 21 mph, and use a 65-foot line for a clean, consistent pop right out of the box.
Titan slide-off spinner combo racks Gone are the days of throwing your back out (before you even got a chance to ride) by torquing around the side of the tower trying to get your board down from the racks. Malibu makes it easy to access and retrieve your ride with standard spinner board racks that will save time and eliminate frustration on the water. The racks slide off for easy storage, and the combo forks allow for a surfboard and wakeboard on each side.
