Cable Parks 2011: Cowtown Wakepark

Located a short drive, bike ride or skate trip from downtown Fort Worth, Texas, this brand-new five-tower park is poised to make one of America’s hottest wake scenes even hotter. Cowtown Wakepark opened with a bang by hosting the fourth stop of Liquid Force’s 2011 Free for All cable tour on June 12, letting everyone ride for free alongside Liquid Force pros Tom Fooshee and Bob Soven. This park is really amazing, as it is so close to downtown Fort Worth in a truly unique setting. The water is always butter.

Sick setup

Cowtown Wakepark’s full-size main park features a center island to keep the lake calm and so many obstacles that you could ride all day long and never run the same line. The park’s seven structures include flat and incline rails as well as kickers and transfer boxes. Also, Cowtown Wakepark’s towers are super tall, so your airtime is magnified like you can’t believe.

In addition to Cowtown Wakepark’s main cable lake, the park also includes the training pond, a beginner-friendly second lake that features Rixen’s Little Bro two-tower system. The training pond will come in handy during Cowtown Wakepark’s five-day kids camps this summer, which are designed for riders age 7 to 16 and cost just $375.

Legendary leadership

Cowtown Wakepark is brand-new, but it boasts plenty of pedigree thanks to an all-star advisory board that knows a lot about how to make it fun. In fact, Cowtown’s leadership includes Liquid Force founder Tony Finn, CamSur Watersports Complex owner Luis Villafuerte, Wasserski Langenfeld’s manager Karsten Krey and Marco Thompson, who also owns KC Watersports. “I wanted to make this park the most fun place to ride possible, so I got an advisory board that knows what they are doing,” says owner/operator and die-hard rider Tommy Fambrough. “Come visit us and go big.”
