Cable Parks 2011: Wake Nation Houston

When it opened in May, Wake Nation Houston became the nation’s second clockwise-rotating cable system, which is awesome for left-foot-forward riders. This is the second Wake Nation park, and it boasts many of the same great features as Wake Nation Cincinnati, which is quickly becoming one of the best cable parks in the world. In fact, Wake Nation Houston mimics the original Wake Nation’s setup with a rail-filled full-size cable lake, a beginner-friendly practice pond, a relaxing observation deck and a loaded pro shop with the latest gear from Liquid Force, Billabong, O’Neill and more.

Houston, we have a park

Wake Nation Houston is the only full-size cable park in the city and Houston’s latest water-sports attraction. The park has something for everyone in your family, from the full-size cable lake and the ride-at-your-own-pace practice pond to the massive observation deck that offers panoramic views of the entire lake area.

Big air

One of the many features Wake Nation Houston shares with its sister park in Cincinnati are the five 35-foot-tall towers that line the 12-acre cable lake. The taller your towers, the higher riders can boost their air tricks, so you can expect to boot your biggest moves ever in Houston.

Pro-approved

Wake Nation Houston got the pro stamp of approval when Liquid Force riders Aaron Reed and Ben Greenwood helped christen the new park during the third stop of Liquid Force’s Free for All cable tour on June 5.
