2010 Overview: CWB completely rethought its top wakeboard five boots for 2010, introducing the third generation of its Hinge technology and taking a giant leap forward in the looks department. Andrew Adkison’s and Trevor Hansen’s new boots — the AA and Marius, respectively — lead the way, followed by the Answer, Faction and women’s Ember. With its mesh wrap, the Answer is the lightest of the bunch, weighing in at 1 pound, 7 ounces. But all five are incredibly lightweight, thanks in part to the new Gen6-Plate, which is CWB’s narrowest and lightest plate ever. In the board department, CWB is debuting a new Gabe Lucas pro model, the Vibe, as well as an ultra-light, tech-heavy board called the DB9. Lucas designed the Vibe to reflect his riding style, which means it had to be equally at home on rails and on the wake. As a result, the board features a host of rail-friendly features, including ABS sidewalls, super-durable X-Trans base, and flex construction. Thanks to its PWC/bamboo core, the new DB9 wakeboard weighs in at less than 6 pounds, making it the lightest in the CWB line. As for wakeskates, Stu Shinn has a new pro model wood concave, the Four.19, while Matt Manzari takes ownership of the Onset, which now features an ABS-wrapped bottom deck for extra durability.

Great job CWB, nice to see companies like yourself striving to evolve the sport of wakeboarding. Line up looks sicky, can't wait to place an order.
