2010 Overview: After Aaron Rathy’s huge night at WAKEBOARDING magazine’s Wake Awards, all eyes were on his new pro model wakeboard, the Byerly Conspiracy.  The Conspiracy wakeboard, which was designed by Scott “Butch” Bouchard, combines aspects of the Byerly Assault wakeboard and Byerly Monarch wakeboard, both of which Rathy has ridden since joining Team Byerly at the beginning of the year. The result is a board that rides super-loose but locks in hard when it’s put on edge. Befitting a rider who lands hammer after hammer, the Conspiracy wakeboard is also super-tough, thanks to a reinforced sidewall that makes it impervious to even hits from a hammer. But the Conspiracy is only the beginning of the 2010 offering from Byerly wakeboards. There’s also a new wood wakeskate called the heritage as well as a new composite wakeskate called the Revival. Perhaps the most interesting piece of gear, however, is the first-ever Byerly wakesurf board, the Hazard. Given that Bouchard has been shaping surfboards for more than a decade, this new wakesurfer should be fun to say the least.
