For most people, wakeboarding is a relaxing activity — an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. But when 29-year-old Hungarian bombshell Sylvi Bódi goes riding, the papparazzi are right behind her. Quite used to the extra company, however, Bódi doesn’t let it take away from her deep enjoyment of the sport, its lifestyle and the people.
Why does the media perpetually hound her, you ask? This single vixen has graced dozens of Hungarian magazine covers, such as Playboy, FHM, Shape, CKM, Elite, Wellness magazine and more. Additionally, her stunning looks have earned her many illustrious titles, such as Playboy’s Playmate of the Year, FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World, Queen of Hungary Teen, Miss Hungary runner-up, etc. Bódi’s stomping grounds are the Omszk cable park in Budapest, where she resides.
In addition to all the magazine, glamour and fashion modeling, she also has her own modeling school, clothing brand and a scorching-hot calendar. But this beauty is about a lot more than just beauty. We recently caught up with her to find out more.
What are your passions? Traveling and sports like wakeboarding, surfing, bungee jumping, etc.
How did you get into wakeboarding and when? I always wanted to ride. A few years ago, I saw this real hot girl (Kinga Horváth, the 11-time Hungarian champion) killing it. It was inspiring for me. Two years ago, I met her at an event and asked her to coach me. Now she is my best friend, and we travel and wakeboard a lot together. I fell in love with this sport.
Boat or cable? I prefer cable. It’s much more popular in Hungary and in Europe, and we have really good cables with cool obstacles.
Do travel and wakeboarding go together? Yes, I travel a lot because of wakeboarding — oftentimes with Kinga, my best friend and coach. I’ve ridden at many cable parks — in Thailand, Turkey, the Philippines, etc.
Can you do or have you tried air tricks? I haven’t tried inverts yet, because I’ve been working on obstacles. But Kinga told me that I’m ready to learn the backroll, so hopefully I’ll land my first air trick soon.
Who’s your favorite cable rider and why? I love to watch the young Hungarian riders, like Szebasztian Szóláth, Balázs Bakró, Bence Bognár, Norbi Vaskó and Maté Tokay.
Who’s your favorite pro wakeboarder? I have several, both international and Hungarian. My favorite women riders are Kinga Horváth and Maxine Sapulette. My favorite men are Lior Sofer, Nick Davis and James Young.
You were making a documentary film at Hip-Notics cable park in Turkey. What is it called and what is it about? It’s going to show the Hungarian wakeboarding life from the past 10 years. The best Hungarian riders, including Norbi Vaskó, Balázs Bakró, Szebasztián Szóláth, Máté Tokay, Ákos Hegedűs and Kinga Horváth, will be in this movie, and the director, Csaba Soós, asked me to to be a part of the shoot. One part of the movie was shot in Florida, then we had the second part at Hip-notics. We had such a great time there. The documentary will be coming out sometime this summer!
What trick are you dying to learn? Raley.
Favorite setup? Ronix’s Faith Hope Love wakeboard and boots.
How long have you been modeling and how did you get started? I started a long time ago when I was only 14. I always wanted to be a F1 race driver or racing motorbikes. But I fell in love with a windsurfer who never believed I could be a famous model and when he broke up with me I just wanted to prove to him that I could.
What types of modeling do you do? Magazines, glamour and fashion.
Do other Playmates join you on the water? In the modeling business, not many bunnies like to come out of their cages. Girls don’t like to get hurt by doing action sports and jeopardize their jobs. Most of them only go to the gym and that’s enough for them. However, I love adrenaline and like to live active.
Are you attracted to wakeboarders? Yes! They are super-cool.
What are your turn-ons? Ripped abs and sick, stylish presses on rails.
Turn offs? Drinking too much and smoking.
What does it take for a guy to hang out with you? He has to have a good sense of humor and be fearless.
What’s your dream date? Something crazy and romantic. Like bungee jumping off a 300-meter bridge in South Africa or a sick afternoon surf sesh together and then chilling on the beach.
What are your ambitions in life? To live a happy, conscious, healthy life. I want to open a treatment center that combines normal and alternative methods — a body, mind and soul trilogy. I want to help people heal.
