The University of Central Florida's Wakeboard Club hosted a rail jam Sunday, March 29, to raise money for their trip to the 2009 Collegiate Nationals on April 6. Nearly 200 people came out to Lake Jessamine in Orlando for the event, which was sponsored by Motive Boardwear.
"We ended up raising a little money and we're all set for our trip on April 6," Trey Bivins, president of the UCF Wakeboard Club, says.
Although the event wasn't set up like a contest, Motive Boardwear gave the club some shirts and stickers to give away to riders who flaunted some cool tricks. Some of the guys from The Projects as well as pro's Brandon Thomas and Jimmy Watson shredded alongside the club riders.
Seven club riders, including two ladies and one wakeskater, will be leaving April 5 for San Diego. "We couldn't be more excited," Bivins says.
