– BUILD YOUR MALIBU 23 LSV –
Wakeboarding Review
The 23 LSV is all new for Malibu in 2018. This boat has become synonymous over the years with a consistent, high-quality wake and it’s only gotten better with the new design. The LSV wake is like a bigger version of the VLX wake – A.K.A. a great shape with perfect transition. With the stock ballast and Wedge, the wake had good size and a nice, consistent kick. Riders of all levels will be comfortable behind this new shape. Malibu has gone and made a great wake even better.
Wakesurfing Review
By this point you should know that if you take the consistent shape of a Malibu wake and add Surf Gate to it, you’re going to get something really good. That’s no different with the new 23 LSV. As is the case with the Surf Gate and Power Wedge combination, the wave on the 23 LSV had more than enough volume, push, and consistency. We had fun carving big turns, getting really far back, as well as working on airs. Of course, with the Surf Band we were also able to control Surf Gate and dial in transfers, which is something every wakesurfer needs to try.
Completely redesigned for 2018, the Malibu 23 LSV is better than ever, and that’s saying a lot. Here are three of our favorite things about this new boat.
New look/design
A top to bottom makeover brings the 23 LSV into 2018 with more style and function than ever before. On the inside, there’s a new marine grade foam walk through on the sunpad along with the vertical surfaces. Look for new vinyl textures and multiple panels with an ergonomic feel throughout. On the outside, all the contours and the running surface has changed to keep that legendary 23 LSV feel on the wakes and wave. Simply put, this boat looks and rides great.
L Tanks
Malibu’s new L ballast tanks are a big deal. The tanks go up the side of the boat alongside your plug and play and as the level rises in the L tank it fills the bags at the same time, which means your float is giving an accurate indication of the ballast level the whole way through. Why does this matter? You’re no longer relying on timers in your ballast system, which had to be reset and would burn out pump impellers if they weren’t set right.
Power chair
This is a wakesetter, which means luxury AND performance, so a power captains chair was a logical step. Elevation is 100 percent actuated by a toggle switch at your side. You’ve still got a manual bolster to flip up as well, but you may not even need it with the power seat.
