Nothing provides watersports fun quite like a boat. Especially a new one. Not only are boats incredible platforms for experiencing on-water excitement like wakeboarding, wakesurfing, water skiing, tubing, foiling, or myriad other towed sports, but they are also amazing vehicles for socializing. Nowhere else can you get the experience of being on the lake with family and friends, jamming out to your favorite tunes, soaking up the rays, and cheering and laughing as everybody takes a turn to ride.
With that, here is a list of new boats to look for in 2019. Whether you’re just thinking about trying some towed watersports or you’re a hardcore fan who’s been doing it for years, there is definitely a model out there to suit your needs.
Centurion Fi25
The lowdown: Centurion turned heads with the introduction of the entirely new Fi line in 2018, thanks in large part to the performance of the Opti-V hull. For 2019 the company decided to add to it by releasing an Fi25. Now you can get the awesome performance of the Fi with room for everybody.
Opti-V Hull: Clean, powerful waves and large, symmetrical wakes. Ramfill: Fill and drain over 2,000 pounds of subfloor ballast in under two minutes. Quick Surf Pro: Customize your wave and switch sides with ease. Plus, it allows for easier planing when fully loaded. DropZone Tower (optional): Easy to use, low maintenance and automatic. Plus, it’s lighter and stronger thanks to new design and construction techniques. The DropZone is also full of cool little features like rope hooks, LED lights, and side mounts for wakesurfing ropes so you don’t have to use the center. In-floor Ice Chest: You use one almost every time you’re on the boat, but an ice chest is annoying to leave out on the open floor. The Fi25 has the perfect spot for it: in the floor.

Axis A22
The lowdown: The A22 is the boat that launched Axis and helped make the brand into what it has become. After redesigning the A24 last year, Axis made similar adjustments to the godfather of the line, and now thanks to some tweaks in the hull and new upgrades, the A22 is better than ever.
Axis A22
Power Wedge III: The Power Wedge has been updated, and v3.0 is bigger with more selectable positions. That means bigger, more customizable wakes and waves. Surf Gate: Don’t worry about shifting weight or cheating by draining ballast on one side. Engage Surf Gate and you go from wakeboarding to wakesurfing instantly. Surf Band: Control what you want when you want and stop screaming at the driver — speed, Power Wedge, transfers, and even the tunes all at the touch of some buttons on your wrist while you ride. Captain’s Chair: A good driver’s seat is often underrated, but if you spend a decent amount of time in one, you know how important it is. The new seat at the helm of the A22 is comfortable, supportive, and easy to get in and out of. Upgrade it and it can be power-equipped. Big Bow: The pickle-fork bow provides a lot of room for hanging out. Add in separate speakers and cup holders, and it’s a social zone unto itself.

Axis T23
The lowdown: The biggest traditional-bow boat in the Axis line, the T23 has been updated for 2019 and continues to carry the banner Axis has become famous for. Simply put, that means high performance and great wakes and waves in a boat that can hold 16 passengers, without breaking the bank.
Wake Plus Hull: Designed to sit lower in the water, the hull on the T23 creates sizable wakes and waves. But most importantly, they’re clean with smooth transitions. Skybox Seat: The back seat slides out to turn into a rear-facing bench. Backrests can be added as an option. KISS: Keep it simple, stupid. Axis has always done a great job of not going crazy with every option (because a lot of stuff isn’t always necessary). Analog gauges, soft-touch buttons, and a simple digital screen to display Power Wedge and Surf Gate positions along with other vitals are easy to use and somewhat refreshing.

Malibu 22 LSV
The lowdown: The 23 LSV has been one of the bestselling wakeboats for years, so for 2019 Malibu decided to offer it in a slightly smaller package. The 22 LSV basically replaces the 22 VLX while getting the upgrades the LSV line is famous for.
Power Wedge III: The new Power Wedge really shines on a smaller boat like the 22 LSV. Even with just a few passengers and stock ballast, it helps create large wakes and waves that are easily adjusted to suit each rider’s preferences. Choose a Hull: On the 22 LSV you can pick the Wake Plus hull or the Diamond Multisport, which can run more suitably for the slalom-ski fan in your group. Of course, you get the famous symmetrical wakes of the LSV line with that signature Malibu transition. Command Center: Control everything with your fingertips from the gorgeous 13-inch display. It’s crystal clear and glare-free, no matter how bright it is outside. Of course, you can also use the intuitive Command Dial next to the steering wheel. Surf Band: Control everything while you surf so you don’t have to rely on the driver to make the adjustments you want or need. This helps a ton when learning how to transfer from side to side while wakesurfing.

Malibu 25 LSV
The lowdown: Malibu’s biggest boat got a full refresh for 2019, and it’s better than ever. Not only do you get some of Malibu’s best wakes and waves, but you also get a ton of options that make this boat one-of-a-kind.
New Malibu Engine: Malibu’s new Monsoon engine line really shines in the big 25 LSV. Not only does it have power to spare while getting a full load on plane, but it is also extremely quiet and smooth. Custom Seating: The MultiView Bench Seat can slide into multiple positions to customize the cockpit seating arrangement for watching all the on-water action, plus it can convert into a table with built-in cup holders. Chargers Galore: The 25 LSV is equipped with three wireless chargers, and throughout the boat you will find plenty of phone holders and USB ports. Cameras and Thrusters: A rear camera automatically comes on when the boat is in reverse. An optional bow camera and thrusters help with docking and trailering this large boat. Flip-Down Swim Step: The new optional swim step flips down to act as a ladder or even a seat for when you’re chilling on the water.

Moomba Makai
The lowdown: The new flagship of the Moomba line, the Makai makes a big statement, both with its size and its lower base price. Grab a big group of friends and get ready for big fun.
AutoWake: Using technology from its sister Supra, the Makai gets AutoWake as an option, which can automatically detect pitch, roll and other characteristics, and adjust the ballast accordingly to keep the wakes how you want them. No fussing needed. Transom Walk-Through: Getting to the back of a big boat can mean stepping on a lot of upholstery. The walk-through on the Makai is a welcome, convenient feature. G6 Ballast System: Standard on the Makai, a 4,000-pound subfloor ballast system has six pumps for the three zones (bow, rear port and rear starboard), which means faster filling and draining. Seating Options: Customize the cockpit how you want. Adjust the back seat into a rear-facing bench so you can watch all the action. Flow 2.0: Moomba’s surf tabs make going from wakeboarding to wakesurfing a breeze while kicking up large waves with tons of push and a clean lip.

Supra SE
The lowdown: For years the SE has been the flagship of the Supra line, and for 2019 it’s been totally redesigned. Taking cues from both the SA and the SL, the SE combines the best Supra has to offer and delivers it in one amazing package.
Vision Control System: This all-new dash setup is full of tech that makes using the SE and dialing in its various systems easy and intuitive. Extra Cool Bonus: The touchscreen over on the passenger side controls media and lighting. New Transom: The transom of the SE features a walk-through so you’re not stepping on upholstery, plus it has flip-up backs that allow you to lounge in comfort when you’re done riding. FXOne Power Tower: Fold your tower down with the push of a button, which is great for getting under low spots, towing, or storing in a space with lower clearance. AutoWake: The tech that helps set Supra apart continues to get better. Think of AutoWake as an autopilot for your wakes and waves. The system detects changes in how the boat is riding and adjusts ballast accordingly. Swell Surf 3.0: Retuned for 2019, the Swell Surf System puts out epic waves that are easily customized and controlled. Transfers are faster than ever now thanks to new actuators on the plates.

Supreme ZS212
The lowdown: The little brother of the ZS232, the 212 is an amazing 21-foot boat with a style all its own that will have you wakeboarding and wakesurfing in no time.
The Looks: At first sight, it’s easy to see where the ZS gets its name from. The Z-shaped line between the deck and hull is striking and aggressive, and that’s a good thing. This boat looks awesome on and off the water. Quick Surf Pro: Quickly turn wakes into large, clean waves without having to shift weight around, all with the push of a button. Plus, you can transfer from one side to the other in under two seconds. Dash: The updated dash puts your vital controls on an LCD screen front and center, while analog gauges are moved to the right side of the steering wheel. Ballast: With 4,400 pounds of onboard ballast available, you have some serious weight to kick up some really big, really fun wakes and waves. Gas Galore: It might sound weird to highlight a gas tank, but the 212 can hold a whopping 81 gallons, which is a ton for a boat this size. That means more weight to help with shaping up a big wake, and you can likely ride all day without worrying about filling up.

Supreme ZS232
The lowdown: Supreme has continuously stepped up its game over the last few years, but with the ZS232 it’s gone up way more than steps. More like multiple flights of stairs. This is the new flagship for Supreme, and it’s been designed from the ground up to deliver an awesome on-water experience.
Tapered-V Hull: This all-new hull was designed to maintain the smooth ride characteristics of Supreme’s classic deep-V hull, but it tapers toward the back to allow the ZS to displace more water without needing a lot more ballast. The result is pretty obvious. Rear Storage: The ZS232 has an innovative rear locker system with plenty of room for storage that’s easily accessible. Big Bow: There is tons of room up front for several people to hang out in comfort. Ballast: Add the optional plug-and-play system and you’ve got 4,600 pounds of ballast at your disposal to help shape some huge wakes and waves. Subfloor Ballast: Taking a cue from its Nautique cousins, the Calandra features subfloor ballast tanks that run on port and starboard sides from near the bow to the stern. The added benefit of subfloor ballast is the increased storage throughout the boat. Convertible Rear Lounge: The rear seating area has tons of options, so you can sit or lounge however you’d like.
