Last October, Erik “Gator” Lutgert joined Gator Boards team rider Derek Cook in Morgan Hill, California, to check out the local scene and visit some Bay Area wake shops. In between, Lutgert and Cook caught a session on Lake Anderson, the home lake of Cook’s South Bay Wakeboard Academy.
“It’s awesome to ride with Gator,” Cook says. “He’s a true legend in the sport and I’ve always looked up to him.”
These days, Lutgert and Cook are frequent riding partner. Lately, they get out and ride at least once a week.
