Take a progressive switchstance heelside edge into the wake, standing tall, handle at hip level. Push the board up and away from the boat as you would on a switch roll. At the peak of your rotation, release the handle with your rear hand, keeping the handle at your hip by turning your lead wrist over as if putting it in your pocket. Look at the shore for orientation and bend your knees to absorb the landing. The key in any rotational trick is to do the rotation during the second half of the trick to maintain your straight axis.
