Tige Boats is putting up $10,080 in hopes of seeing a 1080 landed at the 2008 Tige Pro-Am Wakeboard Championships June 20-22 in Portland. The sum is the largest purse ever offered for the trick, which has never been landed in competition.
The 1080 contest is open to the four riders who make the finals of the Pro Men’s division as well as two wild card riders. Each of the six riders will have four attempts at the trick. If more than one rider lands a 1080, the successful riders will split the prize.
