Everything’s come full circle. On Aug. 31 – Sept. 3, all of today’s best wakeskaters will be competing in the Rockstar Byerly Toe Jam Presented by O’Neill, which is returning to The Projects outside of Orlando, Florida, where it all began eight years ago.
The four-day event will feature four different categories of riding with champions crowned in each. It will also determine the best wakeskater on the planet, because the rider who accumulates the most points overall will take home top honors. For 2011, the Rockstar Byerly Toe Jam boasts the biggest purse ever at a wakeskating event with $20,000 up for grabs. Anyone is welcome to attend, but if you can’t make it, be sure to tune into byerlytoejam.com for a live webcast!
“More people are entering, with new faces and sick riding,” Toe Jam founder Scott Byerly says of the 2011 event. “We’ve brought it back to The Projects so the vibe that we started with still remains. We want everybody to have a good time and see the best riding. That is what the Toe Jam will always be known for.”
Everyone will celebrate on Saturday night at 9 p.m. at The Social in downtown Orlando for the Arnette Awards Party and the winners will be honored. Riders are encouraged to register now, in order to avoid late fees assessed after 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday Aug. 30.
