Set your calendars for April 18-21, 2012, because the 9th Annual Rockstar Byerly Toe Jam wakeskate contest will take to the water in Orlando, Florida. Open registration will begin in late March for the two categories of wake riding and winch jam.
Scott Byerly has joined forces with The Wakeskate Tour and the Toe Jam will serve as the first stop and qualifier of a new, five-stop series with a $50,000 prize purse. The Wakeskate Tour Director Silas Thurman is psyched to incorporate the Toe Jam into what will be known as the top contest tour in the sport of wakeskating.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the inaugural tour than with Scott Byerly’s Toe Jam,” Silas said. “This event paved the way for competitive wakeskating and we are honored to work with Byerly, as always. It’s going to be an exciting season for wakeskating and we invite everybody to come out and have fun.”
Byerly feels good about the partnership, and is a strong supporter of The Wakeskate Tour.
“We’ve seen a couple new, independent events pop up in recent years and it makes sense to tie all this together,” Byerly said. “The Toe Jam will be stronger than ever and I’m excited for myself and the Rockstar team to have a good representation at each stop.”
