The Wakeskate Tour
Stop #4 – The Obscura Championship
Texas Ski Ranch, New Braunfels, TX
The Texas Ski Ranch & Obscura Wakeskates hosted Stop #4 of The Wakeskate Tour this past weekend. The Texas heat was turned way up and so was the wakeskating at TSR. Fourty-five competitors showed up to The Obscura Championship to battle it out for the 10K cash purse. Matt Manzari is back in perfect health and back in action after one of the worst wrecks in our sport’s competitive history, working his way into the semi-finals in an incredible comeback. Texas brought out the crowd and was especially showing the love for Texans Brett Little and Collin Gee who both made it all the way through to the two-hour six man Finals. When the dust & clay settled, it was Andrew Pastura on top of the podium. Andrew has been on a rampage this season and taking this win puts him in the #1 position, knocking out the previous leader Ben Horan. Andrew was followed up by Nick Taylor in 2nd place and Nick Robinson in 3rd. The points race is coming down to the wire, Andrew holding a commanding lead. The upper end of the pack has their work cut out for them to take the top spot.
The Wakeskate Tour would like to thank Aaron Reed & Danny Hampson at Obscura Wakeskates for an amazing weekend, Rockstar Energy Drink, Nike, Yamaha, TSR, and Wahoos. Stop #5 and the conclusion to the first year of The Wakeskate Tour is coming up soon in Live Oak, Florida. This stop will be one you don’t want to miss.
