West Chester, OH. —History in the making continued as the pro divisions opened competition at the Nautique & Rockstar WWA Wake Park National Championships, presented by Polaroid Action. With park and boat riding specialists competing head-to-head for the first time ever in a crossover cable event with national titles on the line at Cincinnati’s famed Wake Nation, competitors and spectators alike recognized the magnitude of today’s heats.
The elite Pro Men’s division saw strong performances from the park specialists. Leading the charge was Tom Fooshee, who treated his competition to a taste of perfection dropping a perfect 100-point run in the finals to claim the National Championship. To boot, Fooshee also clocked a perfect performance in the Pro Features qualifying round. However, Bob Soven stepped to the plate on behalf of crossover boat riders by posting a perfect score of his own in the Features finals to take home the division’s National Title.
“A whole new dimension of Wakeboarding is progressing this weekend in Ohio,” said Chris Bischoff, competition director. “It’s great to see new rivalries come alive as the world’s best park and boat riders are going up against each other for the first time ever at Nationals.”
The final day of the Nautique & Rockstar WWA Wake Park National Championships, presented by Polaroid Action is tomorrow at Wake Nation Cincinnati. The Wake Park field, including amateur divisions, will be crowned National Champions tomorrow night at the Nautique WWA National Wake Park and Wakeboard Awards Ceremony, the biggest awards ceremony in the history of the sport.
