MasterCraft Boat Company, known for its tight knit clan of world class wake and ski athletes, has recently added another seat at the table welcoming professional songwriter and freestyle surfer Donavon Frankenreiter to its family. Frankenreiter’s infectious love of life, music and surfing is apparent to anyone who has the privilege to meet him and MasterCraft is honored to be part of his esteemed list of long-term partners.
And the feeling is mutual. “I’m stoked to join the MasterCraft family,” said Donavon Frankenreiter. “Family is the most important part of my life and MasterCraft is a perfect addition – their vibe is all about family and just living life. As a teenager, Donavon Frankenreiter took up surfing the beaches of San Clemente, Califiornia. It didn’t take long for those in the surf community to take notice and at age 15 Frankenreiter began earning a paycheck as a professional surfer. An eventual sponsorship by Billabong led to Donavon’s ultimate dream, the ability to be a free surfer – paid to ride the waves but not required to surf in competitions. Now years later, Donavon Frankenreiter remains synonymous with world-class surfing.
Donavon also began his love affair with music as a teenager, playing guitar at age 17. He quickly developed a passion for music that equaled his love of surfing. In 2002 Frankenreiter began his journey as “Donavon Frankenreiter – professional singer / songwriter” by signing with Jack Johnson’s label Brushfire and releasing his self-titled album in 2004, co-produced by Johnson.
Frankenreiter released 3 more albums over the next several years and laid out grueling tour schedules year after year that included many international locations. Then in 2012, he released Start Livin’ on his own record label Liquid Tambourine Records and is currently on a world-wide tour promoting that album. In only 10 short years, Donavon Frankenreiter, whose mellow, groovy and upbeat songs serve up a genuine soulfulness, has earned millions of fans the world over.
