Will Feature 24 Divisions of Men’s and Women’s Wakeboarding and Wakeskating
Orlando, Fla. — The Nautique Wake Open presented by Rockstar, a newly added stop on wakeboarding’s elite King of Wake series, will be held at one of the sport’s most iconic venues, Orlando Watersports Complex, on Aug 21-24. In addition to featuring a large contingent of the best professional men and women wakeboarders and wakeskaters, many of the world’s top amateur riders will also compete across 24 total divisions.
The inclusion of a wide-variety of male and female amateur and professional divisions at the Nautique Wake Open will give riders of all skill levels a coveted opportunity to compete behind the award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 and G21.
Big names will be abundant at the four-day long competition. Among the top athletes expected to compete at the Wake Open are Nautique team riders Bob Soven, JD Webb, Noah Flegel, Shawn Watson, Brandon Thomas, Raimi Merritt and Meagan Ethell.
The Nautique team will be among the favorites in their respective divisions, as they will be riding behind their boat of choice, Nautique’s G23, which is known for producing one of the biggest wakes ever. Fans will witness plenty of mind-boggling excitement with wakeboarding’s most talented riders launching gigantic aerial maneuvers and highly-technical tricks from the boat.
“The Nautique Wake Open is a great new addition to the King of Wake series,” said competition director, Chris Bischoff. “Coming down the home stretch of the season, riders will be competing for valuable series points and will be looking to go huge off the G23’s world class wake to impress the judges.”
Following the final rounds of action on Aug. 24, fans can stay for the one-of-a-kind CONTOUR Big Air Contest. The event features top athletes performing exciting and innovative new tricks that aren’t typically attempted in a traditional contest setting.
