Think of the new ATC2K waterproof flash memory recorder as the video camera for the YouTube generation. Not only is its full-color video — which it shoots at 640×480 resolution at 30 frames a second — best suited for the Web, but its minimalist design also makes recording, downloading, editing and uploading your own wake featurettes remarkably quick and easy. So while the video quality isn’t going to win you any Wake Awards, it could make you the next Internet sensation. And since the ATC2K is impact-resistant and waterproof up to three meters, it’s a no-brainer for documenting your wake riding. Perhaps the best thing about the ATC2K, though, is its versatility. It’s as compact as a can of Red Bull and weighs less than a pound, so its presence is just north of negligible. Plus it comes with various mounting hardware, so you can fasten it, simply and securely, virtually anywhere. During our tests, we strapped it at various times on our helmet, bindings, handle, arms and legs, fixing the lens at dozens of original angles, but didn’t come close to exhausting the possibilities. We’ll leave that up to you.
