It has been nearly a decade since the Georgia grassroots wake series returned to the classic venue in Rome. On Saturday May 14, the Georgia Wake Series will write its first chapter at this timeless location. Coming in at 2,200 feet long, with premier viewing and a gently sloped shore, the Rome site is a rider’s dream. Protected from the wind by the surrounding trees, this pass provides premier conditions for all riders. It’s no surprise that this lake is where Jeff Langley, a household name in pro wakeboarding, honed his trade. “Rome is a great tournament location. The conditions are always top notch,” said Jeff, “I’m excited that the Georgia Wake Series is having the first stop here and I’m sure the young rippers will be pumped when they see it!”

• Liquid Force will award one Georgia Wake Series rider a spot on the 2017 Liquid Force Regional Team. The sponsorship, open to any rider in any class, will be decided based on the most well rounded athlete. While skill on a board may be a factor, it’s the rider who shows the most stoke, is down to help out, brings a crew, or otherwise gives back to the sport that is going to get the nod.
