ORLANDO, FL (August 2, 2016) – This week individuals and teams from across the country will converge on Orlando Watersports Complex (OWC) to compete in the 2016 Nautique World Wakeboard Association (WWA) Wake Park National Championships presented by Rockstar.
Formed from the joining of the National Points Chase with the Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships, the world’s largest wake park event in 2016, will run August 4-7. Over the past few weeks, the top five amateur riders from each division at almost 50 parks have earned their spot to compete for a national title through their local home park qualifiers. These series hosted by the participating parks not only qualified individual riders, but also a team to represent their respective parks at the championship event. In addition to the amateur competition, professional athletes will have the opportunity to compete for the largest prize purse in the history of the event.
OWC will be defending both team titles on their home site and will be the early favorite to repeat as champions in 2016. They became the first team to win both of the team titles for traditional and features just last year.
Bill Yeargin, CEO of Correct Craft (owner of Aktion Parks) stated, “OWC is honored and excited to host the National Cable Championships. People travel from around the world to visit OWC, so it is fitting that this prestigious event be held at one of the world’s top parks.” Yeargin added, “Our OWC team will not only be focused on hosting a great event, but also on winning another national championship!”
